Lost Cities · TJ BlamireWhat happens to the places we build when the people who built them are gone?
Lost Cities explores imagined civilizations suspended somewhere between the past and the future. Monumental structures, forgotten transportation systems, and mysterious landscapes suggest worlds that once thrived, yet whose stories remain untold.
Each painting offers a glimpse into a place that feels strangely familiar but exists beyond any known geography or time. These are not necessarily worlds destroyed by catastrophe, but places transformed by time, nature, and the unknown.
The collection invites viewers to imagine their own stories. Who lived here? What were these structures built for? Are these civilizations truly gone, or are we witnessing the beginning of something new?
Lost Cities is not about the end of the world. It is about the worlds that exist beyond the one we know.

For TJ Blamire, art has been a lifelong pursuit. Growing up on Long Island, New York, he was always drawing and inventing characters. Among his earliest creations was Ninja Tomato, an original comic-book character that began taking shape when he was a child and remains part of his creative world today.
TJ earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the State University of New York at Albany. His artistic practice spans illustration, comic art, watercolor, airbrush techniques, and acrylic painting on canvas. His Lost Cities series has evolved across these media over the years, with more recent works primarily painted in acrylic. Across these media, he brings an enduring interest in storytelling, atmosphere, and imaginative worlds.
He began developing the ideas behind his Lost Cities series around the late 1990s or early 2000s. The collection has continued to evolve over the years, exploring imagined places and the traces of civilizations that might once have inhabited them. His Lost Cities work was exhibited in Tribeca, New York, in October 2026.
Now based in the Charlotte area, TJ continues to create original paintings and comic illustrations and welcomes inquiries about exhibitions, available artwork, and commissions.
